Non-invasive. Accurate. Life-saving.
Your eyes are far more than a window to the world—they reveal insights into your health and can often identify serious conditions before they become life-threatening.
Leveraging the latest in AI-powered technology, real-time analysis of retinal screening imagery can now be used to calculate your Cardiovascular Risk Score Profile in just 3 minutes. This next-level insight reveals your likelihood of having a serious heart condition within the next 5 years, and enables you to take a truly proactive approach to your heart health.
Find out your Cardiovascular Risk Score with a quick Retinal Screening.
Cardiovascular disease (often abbreviated to CVD) refers to conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels, including heart attacks and strokes, and recent statistics are devastating:
Thankfully, preventative steps can greatly reduce your risk, and early detection can save lives. Until now, however, it was difficult to identify cardiovascular concerns before it was too late. Dr. Noon CVD technology has forever changed this and Style Optique is thrilled to be one of the first Optical Practices in the UK to offer this potentially life-saving service.
Comparable in accuracy to hospital CT heart scans, but without the associated drawbacks, such as radiation exposure, claustrophobia, long wait times, and high costs, Dr. Noon CVD offers a fast, affordable, and safe Cardiovascular Risk assessment alternative. The process is completely non-invasive, entirely pain-free, and the results are delivered in just 3 minutes.
The process works by analysing retinal imagery with deep-learning algorithms to identify micro-vessel changes and see how blood flows through your arteries, the ratio and balance between your arteries and veins, and any changes in your arteries and veins. Your retina (the back of your eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be viewed directly, and when narrowing is visible in the arteries of the eye (atherosclerosis), there is likely to be the same narrowing in almost every other blood vessel in the body. This insight generates a very accurate and thorough Cardiovascular Risk Score for the next 5 years.
At Style Optique, we have always believed that an eye test is about more than excellent vision and fabulous frames—it’s about your overall wellbeing.
This innovative new Cardiovascular Retinal Screening technology, which assesses your risk of heart disease and stroke with a quick, comfortable scan of your eyes, is now available as an optional add-on to your routine eye exam for the nominal investment of just £55.
Solo-service Dr. Noon Retinal Screening is also available, should you wish to periodically reassess your Cardiovascular Risk Score in order to track your progress.
Schedule your Cardiovascular Risk Assessment today.
By taking proactive steps, such as making lifestyle changes and seeking and following medical advice, you can lower your risk of Cardiovascular Disease and safeguard your long-term health.
Unlike CT scans of the heart, which are calcification based, Dr. Noon CVD analyses your arteries, and can therefore pick up changes in your risk level each time you take the screening. This is unquestionably one of the most empowering things about this Retinal Screening—your cardiovascular risk is not fixed—it can change—and you can safely repeat this screening over time to track your progress and maintain a proactive approach to your heart health.
Cardiovascular disease refers to conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels, including heart attacks and strokes. It is the number 1 cause of death in the UK, causing over 160,000 deaths annually.
Dr. Noon CVD Retinal Screening technology is an innovative AI-powered tool that assesses retinal imagery in real-time to calculate an accurate Cardiovascular Risk Score Profile for the next 5 years.
Dr. Noon technology analyses retinal imagery with deep-learning algorithms to identify micro-vessel changes, see how blood flows through the arteries, and how it doesn’t flow in other vessels, and then compares these with other patients in the database. Because the retinal artery in your eye is one of the only places in your body where you can easily visualise the arteries without a needle, if there is narrowing in the arteries of the eye (atherosclerosis), the same process also causes narrowing in almost every other blood vessel in the body. This insight gives a very accurate overall predictor of Cardiovascular Disease.
Yes, Dr. Noon is exceptionally accurate and the results are comparable with CT Calcium Scoring achieved by way of traditional CT scans of the heart. In order to achieve MHRA approval, Dr. Noon had to demonstrate clinical effectiveness in clinical trials, and the database includes several hundred thousand patients, of all ethnicities (including the UK Biobank). Dr. Noon has also been validated in world leading journals, such as The Lancet Digital Health and JAMIA, as well as conference papers published at the European Society of Cardiology.
3 minutes after your Dr. Noon screening, you will receive a 3-page report outlining your Cardiovascular Risk Profile. We take the time to explain your results to you in detail, and answer any questions you may have.
While no technology is ever 100% accurate, Dr. Noon is exceptionally precise and if you receive a low risk assessment, you can be re-assured that your risk of a cardiovascular event in the next 5 years is likely less than 1%. If, however, you receive a medium or high risk result (especially for your age), it would be wise to take preventative steps, beginning with contacting your GP to arrange a baseline ECG, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure and BMI check. If, at any time, you have symptoms such as shortness of breath or chest pain, you should consult your GP or call 111.
While the results are very similar to a CT Coronary Calcium Score gained via a CT scan of the heart that is typically performed in hospitals, Dr. Noon CVD is a safer, more comfortable, and less expensive alternative.
CT scans involve radiation, require contrast injections (which can damage the kidneys), are not suitable for patients with claustrophobia, and are very expensive. Dr. Noon CVD on the other hand is non-invasive, involves no radiation, is pain-free, is safe for repeated use, and is very low cost.
In addition, Dr. Noon assesses blood vessels by looking directly at the arteries, rather than at the calcification, which means your risk can go up and down, as it does in real life; a variance that is not reflected in a CT scan.
We recommend waiting at least six months after surgery before scheduling your Dr. Noon Cardiovascular Retinal Screening appointment.
To ensure the most accurate results, we recommend refraining from smoking, caffeine, sugar intake, exposure to strong light, and rapid temperature changes directly before your Dr. Noon Cardiovascular Risk Screening appointment.
Yes, you can still take the Dr. Noon Cardiovascular Risk Screening and benefit from accurate results. Depending on your condition, we may capture retinal images of one or both eyes.
